My name is Therese van de Berg. I am a Dutch artist of drawings and paintings, engaged by a passion for art and culture. I also love to write poetry; for this site I have translated my poems as well as I could... I want to make the world sing from in between and from inside and from behind and underneath all things I want to get lost in these given spaces and by coinsidence discover some meaningful traces To me the making of art drawings and paintings is like writing a poem: the outcome af an experience, my personal - and thus coloured - sketch of reality. Touched by its beauty, wonder and thrill: it could be anything and I couldn't work without it! 'Since Paul Klee all artists are self-taught' (Pablo Picasso) After reading these words by Picasso, during the Paul Klee exibition 'It all starts with a kid' at the Cobra Museum, I knew it was time for me to have my own site: time for me to come 'out of the closet'! For this site I made a selection of drawings and paintings I made during the last fifteen years.
